Our company created a dance adaptation of Kālidāsa’s Shakuntala, using Bharatanatyam techniques and a fusion of Iranian and Indian music. I worked as a dramaturg, adapting the text into scenes for the dance piece and providing the contextual framework necessary for understanding Sanskrit drama within a contemporary Iranian setting.
